January 2021: Thirtieth anniversary of the Firm

Socios Financieros, SA (SOCIOS) first opened its doors to clients on 7th of January 1991 with the ambition to become Spain’s first large, independent, partner owned, corporate advisory firm focusing on the middle and upper-middle market.  Thirty years later, the Firm looks back on three decades of single-minded pursuit of that ambition, having provided conflict free advice to clients of all types and sizes, of many different nationalities, in almost three hundred significant transactions and more than a thousand different assignments. The Firm has successfully advised global multinational investors in one billion Euro disposals whilst at the same time advising local Spanish companies in ten million Euro consolidation acquisitions.

Other independent firms and large investment banks have come and gone over this time, and many others have abandoned their “pure” corporate advisory intentions. SOCIOS, however, remains fully focused on the provision of independent, conflict free corporate finance advice, both in Spain and across the globe, in partnership with our 45 similar minded Oaklins member firms.

Thirty years ago, the first generation of SOCIOS partners met the challenges of global uncertainty produced by the First Gulf War. Thirty years on, the second generation of SOCIOS partners meets the challenges of a world knocked off course by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In all contexts, SOCIOS continues with its client first approach and single mission objective, with the knowledge that “those who live longest, see most”
