October 2019: Mutua Madrileña acquires Centauro Rent a Car, a company specialized in car rental services, from the private equity fund Portobello Capital.
Founded in 1973, Centauro is among the top seven car rental companies in Spain. It has 33 offices in Spain, Portugal, Greece and Italy and an average fleet of more than 30,000 vehicles. In 2018, it achieved a turnover of almost €90 million, 17% more than the previous year, and pre-tax profits of approximately €15 million.
The acquisition of Centauro forms part of Mutua Group’s 2018-2020 Strategic Plan, which has a primary objective of playing a key role in the field of advanced mobility solutions.
