April 2008: Parques Reunidos, the leading international leisure group headquartered in Madrid, Spain, acquires Sea Life Hawaii, U.S.A., for an undisclosed amount.
Sea Life Park is a renowned aquarium and the largest marine animal facility in Hawaii with over 250 thousand annual visitors, and is one of the top aquariums in the United States with 24 dolphins, and a large collection of sea lions, monks seals, penguins, turtles, stingrays and many more fish from Hawaiian waters.
This acquisition reinforces Parques Reunidos’ position as one of the top operators of animal parks in the world.
